Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is one of several pieces of the puzzle to reduce CO₂ emissions. CCS is the capture, compression and storage of anthropogenic CO₂ out of the atmosphere and typically sequestered underground. During this course, you will obtain a overview of the surface facilities of CCS, including capture, compression and pipelines.Read more...
This course discusses the sources of CO2, the properties and phase behaviour of CO2 and the main contaminants, the types of capture, the technologies available for capture and their readiness level, the factors for technology selection, discusses costs of capture and how much capture would be required to achieve targets. The course also touches on materials selection and some of the facility risks as well as overviews some of the existing projects in the world.
