An accurate understanding of the flow in a wellbore is an integral part of production optimization, production monitoring, and asset management. Operating conditions will inevitably dictate the flow behavior in a well. The flow can be single or multiphase depending on the operating conditions. In this course, single and multiphase flow fundamentals in pipes and through restrictions will be covered. Multiphase flow predictions are more challenging compared to single-phase. Typically, empirical correlations or mechanistic models are employed for the prediction. The uncertainty in predictions can vary significantly depending on the method used. Available prediction methods will be discussed based on their applicability and accuracy.Read more...
