Dwayne Purvis has been a reservoir engineer, entrepreneur, trainer, and executive in the oil industry for nearly 29 years. With a Petroleum Engineering degree from Texas A&M University and a Masters in Energy Sustainability from Johns Hopkins University, he has led or participated in hundreds of engineering studies over dozens of basins in the United States and abroad, and he has participated in the sale or acquisition of projects valued from tens of thousands to billions of dollars. His work on field studies and cash flows has often served as expert evidence in venues ranging from regulatory hearings to federal court and international arbitrations.
Mr. Purvis has taught hundreds of industry professionals through courses, and he served as an adjunct professor and former advisory board member at Texas Christian University for several years. Mr. Purvis frequently speaks and writes on issues of shale reservoirs, the energy transition, commodity prices, decline curve analysis, risk analysis, and other industry matters. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas, member of SPEE, AAPG, SEG, SIPES and an active, 30-year member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
