With over 6 years of experience at McDaniel, Tyler also holds the role of Director of Business Intelligence. His expertise lies at the intersection of data science, engineering, and economics, applying advanced analytical techniques to optimize field development and reservoir management.
Tyler's background includes roles as Chief Data Scientist at Verdazo Analytics and senior engineering positions at GLJ Petroleum Consultants. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction from the University of Calgary and has earned the CFA Charterholder designation in 2024. Tyler is passionate about combining first-principles engineering and geoscience with empirical approaches to arrive at the best understanding using all available information. Tyler has worked directly with dozens of operators and likes to think he has learned a lot from their technical teams over the years. Tyler has received two SPE technical awards and is an active speaker at industry workshops. Now with more than a few gray hairs, he has over 20 years of practical experience using machine learning to solve real-world problems. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction from the University of Calgary and has earned the CFA Charterholder designation in 2024.
