Zack Warren

Zack Warren is the Founder and Managing Partner of Velocity Insight, a data management and analytics consulting firm focused on helping E&P companies leverage their existing software tools to make faster, data-driven decisions. With 16 years of experience as a reservoir engineer in the oil and gas industry—working with both supergiants and private pure-plays—Zack transitioned into data analytics while leading an in-house analytics team at an E&P. Building on this experience, he founded Velocity Insight to help companies optimize their practices, workflows, and solutions for more efficient and effective data utilization.
Previously, Zack held leadership roles at Great Western Petroleum, where he managed advanced analytics, reservoir studies, and renewable energy projects, and at Resolute Energy Corporation and Samson Resources, where he led teams in reservoir engineering, achieving significant growth in reserves and production. Zack holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and is a licensed Professional Engineer (Petroleum).
In addition to his professional work, Zack serves as the Board President for Augustana Early Learning Center and the Membership Committee Chair for the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers. Ask him about his 300-horsepower station wagon!
